Silver Airways Welcomes New CEO Dave Pflieger
Silver Airways’ Board of Directors has appointed David H. Pflieger, Jr. to the position of President and CEO, effective May 1, 2013. Pflieger, who also will join the Company’s Board of Directors, will succeed Darrell Richardson who recently retired. A pilot, business executive, and attorney, Pflieger carries more than 27 years of experience in the aviation and airline industry. Most recently at the helm of Air Pacific, Pflieger led the complete restructuring, re-branding and ultimate financial turnaround of Fiji’s national carrier, taking the airline from record losses and turning it into a successful and growing airline generating almost $400 million dollars in revenue per year.
Silver Airways Wins ATW Regional Airline of the Year Award
Following just its first full year in operation, Silver Airways has already ascended to the top of the regional aviation industry, garnering the prestigious 2013 Regional Airline of the Year Award from Air Transport World Magazine (ATW). The honor, awarded in recognition of Silver Airways' outstanding growth and achievements in 2012, as well as its contributions toward elevating the overall regional aviation industry, marks the first time a U.S.-based airline has been named ATW Regional Airline of the Year since 2008. The pinnacle of achievement in aviation, ATW awards are determined by the editors of Air Transport World (ATW) based on submissions made by airlines based all over the world.
